Quiche Nöel

Often made as a Christmas breakfast

Mix ahead and freeze, then bake on Christmas morning.

Things You Need

  • Pie pan
  • Working freezer and oven
  • Aluminum foil
Quiche Nöel

Ingredients

  • Pie crust (directions say prepare 1 package)
  • 1 1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 t flour
  • 1/2 cup diced ham
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 t dry mustard
  • Optional: Parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. Prepare pie crust
  2. Line 9" pie pan with heavy aluminum foil
  3. Place crust into pie pan and flute edges
  4. Combine cheese and flour
  5. Sprinkle cheese mix into pie shell
  6. Sprinkle ham over cheese mix
  7. Combine eggs, milk, salt, and dry mustard, beat until smooth
  8. Pour egg mix over ham and cheese that is already in the pie shell
  9. Place in freezer and freeze solid
  10. Remove from freezer, remove from pie pan and wrap with more foil
  11. Return wrapped pan to the freezer
  12. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 400°
  13. Remove unbaked quiche from freezer and remove all foil
  14. Place frozen unbaked quiche into pie pan
  15. Bake for 60 minutes
  16. Cool slightly before serving

Optional

Garnish with parsley before serving.
