Hard Boiled Eggs

Makes Four Eggs

Prep and Cooks in 30-40 minutes

Things You Need

  • 2 qt or 3qt saucepan
  • Something suitable to let the eggs down and scoop them up again. I use the Mix `N Masher.
  • Ice
  • 2qt bowl
Hard Boiled Eggs

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs

Directions

  1. Add enough tap water to cover an egg
  2. Heat the water nearly to boiling
  3. Slowly and gently lower an egg into the very hot water
  4. Continue adding eggs (cook as many as you want or have room for in each batch)
  5. Keep the water nearly boiling for 15 minutes
  6. Near the end of cooking, prepare a bowl of ice water (I usually have more ice cubes than water)
  7. Quickly scoop an egg out of the very hot water and put it in the ice water
  8. Continue moving the cooked eggs into the ice water until all eggs are cooling
  9. Try to have every egg sumberged in the cold water
  10. After the ice has melted, take out one egg and remove the shell. It should come off somewhat easily
  11. Serve the eggs or refrigerate them until they are needed

Optional

Cook a little less time for soft boiled eggs, or longer for harder boiled eggs.


Easy Peal, Never Fail

Prep and Cooks in 30-40 minutes

Things You Need

  • Big enough pan
  • Something suitable to scoop the eggs from the hot water, such as a slotted spoon or some tongs. I use the Mix `N Masher.
  • Ice
  • Large enough bowl

  • As many eggs as you need cooked

Directions

  1. Place the eggs into the pan
  2. Add enough tap water to cover the eggs
  3. Heat the water to boiling and simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Turn off the heat and leave the eggs in the pan for another 5 minutes
  5. Near the end of cooking, prepare a bowl of ice water (I usually have more ice cubes than water)
  6. Scoop an egg out of the hot water and put it in the ice water
  7. Continue moving the cooked eggs into the ice water until all eggs are cooling
  8. Try to have every egg sumberged in the cold water
  9. Let them chill for 5 minutes
  10. Take out one egg and remove the shell. It should come off somewhat easily
  11. Continue until all of the cooked eggs are shelled
  12. Serve the eggs or refrigerate them until they are needed

Instant Pot Easy Peal, Never Fail

Prep and Cooks in 30-40 minutes

Things You Need

  • An InstaPot or other similar cooker
  • Something suitable to move the eggs from place to place.
  • Ice
  • Large enough bowl

Ingredients

  • As many eggs as you need cooked

Directions

  1. Add 1 C tap water
  2. Place the eggs on the rack in the cooker
  3. Seal the lid and cook for 5 minutes
  4. Turn off the cooker and leave the eggs in the cooker for another 5 minutes
  5. Release the presure for another 5 minutes
  6. One at a time, place all of the eggs into ice water and leave them for another 5 minutes
  7. Try to have every egg sumberged in the cold water
  8. Take out one egg and remove the shell. It should come off somewhat easily
  9. Continue until all of the cooked eggs are shelled
  10. Serve the eggs or refrigerate them until they are needed
