Layered Strawberry Jello® Salad


Serving for ten

First prep 20 minutes, hours to set, then another prep 10 minutes, and more setting time

Things You Need

  • Mixing bowl
  • A cup or small bowl for the pineapple juice
  • 13" x 9" Pan
  • Refrigerator to chill and set the salad
Layered Jello salad

Ingredients

  • 1 large pkg strawberry Jello®
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 16 oz can of crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 small mashed bananas
  • 2 pkg (10oz) frozen strawberries
  • 16 oz sour cream

Directions

  1. Drain pineapple reserving the juice
  2. Dissolve Jello® in boiling water
  3. Mix in a half cup of the pineapple juice and no cold water
  4. Mix in frozen strawberries, pineapple, bananas, and nuts
  5. Pour half of the mixture into 9" x 13" pan and refrigerate for hours
  6. When the mix is firm, stir and soften the sour cream
  7. Spread the softened sour cream on 1st layer, spreading evenly
  8. Spread remaining strawberry mix over the sour cream layer
  9. Return to fridge to set

Note:

Adding too much pineapple juice may prevent this salad from setting firm.

Optional

May be served on a leaf of lettuce.


Green Jello® Salad


Serving for eight

Prep 5 minutes

Things You Need

  • Mixing bowl
Green Jello salad

Ingredients

  • 1 large pkg lime Jello®
  • 9 oz size cool whip or other whipped topping
  • 2 quarts cream style cottage cheese
  • 1 large can chunk pineapple (drained)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients
    (do not prepare Jello® as normal)
  2. Keep in large container and keep cool

Optional

Flavors and mixin's can be altered.
