Creamed Tuna on Toast

Things You Need

  • Saucepan
  • Suitable stiring tool
  • Toaster if serving with toast
Creamed Tuna


  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/8 t pepper
  • 1 or 2 cans tuna fish in water


  1. If serving over rice, start the rice first
  2. In medium saucepan, slowly heat butter just until melted and golden, not brown
  3. Remove from heat
  4. Add flour and pepper
  5. Stir until smooth (may be extremly dry)
  6. Add milk a small amount at a time, stirring after each addition
  7. Return to heat
  8. Over medium heat, bring to boiling stirring constantly
  9. Reduce heat and simmer continuing to stir for 3 minutes
  10. Stir in the tuna undrained and serve


Add a little less milk (like 1 oz less) for a thicker creamed tuna.

Can be served over most anything, including but not limited to: toast, rice, pasta, vegetables, etc.
