  • 1 whole turkey (thawed for 3 days)
  • 1/3 cup oil

  2. Preheat oven and review cooking times below
  3. Scrub turkey with salt
  4. Rub turkey with oil then poultry seasoning
  5. Add 1 Tbsp flour, 2 stalks of celery and 1 medium sliced onion to oven bag
  6. Spray inside of bag with non-stick cooking spray, if desired
  7. Place turkey in cooking bag on top of vegetables (follow bag directions)
  8. Sprinkle with pepper
  9. Close the bag with included strap and cut six 1" slits in bag
  10. Bake until done (if not bagged, remember to baste)
  11. Pour off liquid (drippings) and save for gravy
  12. Carve and serve finished turkey

While it is possible to cook this in a counter-top roaster, the bag directions recommend using an oven. I have used a roaster several times. Just be sure the bag does not touch the cooking surface or it may melt onto your roaster.
