Cream Gravy

A variation of water-base gravy

From The Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book (1996)

Prep time 15 minutes

Things You Need

  • Saucepan
  • Suitable stiring tool
White Sauce


  • 2 T chicken drippings (can substitute 1 t bouillon granules)
  • 1 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/8 t pepper


  1. In medium saucepan or a skillet, mix drippings (or bouillon granules), flour, and pepper.
  2. Add milk all at once
  3. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly
  4. Cook and stir for 1 minute more
  5. If necessary, thin with a lttle additinoal milk


Use a shaker to blend flour, pepper, bouillon, and half of the milk.
